Guarantee & warranty.
Every repair and every service we provide comes with the protections New Zealand law already gives you as a consumer — plus our own commitment to standing behind our work.
Our services are covered by the CGA.
As a New Zealand business, our repair and support services are automatically covered by the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 (CGA). This means our work is guaranteed to be:
- Carried out with reasonable care and skill
- Fit for the purpose you told us about
- Completed within a reasonable time
- Charged at a reasonable price, where no price was agreed upfront
If a repair doesn't meet these guarantees, you're entitled to a remedy — which may be having the work corrected at no charge, a reduction in price, or in some cases a refund, depending on whether the issue is minor or significant. This isn't a "shop policy" we can opt out of — it's the law, and it applies whether or not we've printed it on a receipt.
For the full detail on your rights, Consumer Protection (part of MBIE) has a plain-English guide at consumerprotection.govt.nz.
What we personally guarantee.
On top of your statutory rights, here's what you can expect from us directly.
Workmanship guarantee
If the same fault returns after we've repaired it, we'll put it right at no extra labour charge. Just let us know within a reasonable time of the repair.
Genuine, tested parts
Parts we supply are quality-tested before fitting. Where a part itself fails outside of normal wear, we'll work with our supplier to sort a replacement.
No surprise costs
You'll always get a quote before chargeable work starts. We won't invoice you for anything you haven't agreed to.
Honest assessments
If a device isn't worth repairing, we'll tell you plainly rather than charging for a fix that doesn't make financial sense.
A few sensible limits.
- New faults unrelated to the original repair
- Accidental damage occurring after the device is returned to you
- Pre-existing wear and tear not part of the original job
- Software issues caused by third-party programs installed after our work was completed
This page is a plain-English summary and general information, not legal advice — if you have a specific dispute, Consumer Protection and the Disputes Tribunal are the right places to get a binding answer.
