Fix it, or replace it?

The most common question we get — here's how we actually think it through.

The half-price rule of thumb

If a repair costs more than roughly half the price of an equivalent new (or good second-hand) device, replacing usually makes more financial sense — unless the device has sentimental value or specific software you rely on.

When repair almost always wins

A single component has failed (battery, screen, hard drive) and everything else is healthy
The device is under 3–4 years old
It's otherwise fast enough for what you use it for

When replacing usually wins

Multiple things are failing at once
It's already slow even when healthy
The operating system is no longer supported or updated
